Life, love flow from the wounds of the Savior S t. Matthew’s Gospel – which we will hear all this year long – is replete with stories of the miracles of Jesus. They reveal the compassion Our Lord felt for the poor and the oppressed, the innocent who suffered and those sinners who despaired of God’s forgiveness. He cleanses the lepers, rebukes our fevers, speaks a living word to the deaf, sets the cripples to dance and raises the dead before the astounded eyes of those who hunger for life.
